When I was in my teen’s my favorite show was Gilmore Girls. I have many a fond memory of my mother and I curled up on the couch watching the show. I often dreamed of being like Rory. She was smart, funny, and very much her own person. While surfing around the internet one day I came across a list of books from my favorite tv show. The list had every book ever mentioned on the show. Now, of course a few of them aren’t real but the vast majority are. So I have decided to embark on a new challenge…to read the entire list if plausible. I copied the list and printed it out. Then I went over it to see if I could already check off some books. About ten down only 380 some more to go!
Here’s the link in case you too want to embark on a literary journey. Good luck my friends! Rory Gilmore’s Reading List
Ha ha just kidding, there’s no such thing as too many books.
My husband has to drag me away from the book section of any store we walk through and often gives me a resigned sigh when I give him the puppy eyes when we past a book store. Have I mentioned how much a love him? Any who, the reason why I titled this post the way I did is because right now, I have three books that I’m reading. I didn’t choose to read three in one go, it just sort of happened that way.
You see, the first book is a non fiction. Those I can’t read in one sitting. When I’m bored I pick it up and reach until my brain cries for me to stop. The other book I’m reading is a new purchase (even though I have probably a dozen other books that I need to read). The latest book is a library hold. It’s been on hold for so long that I forgot that I had put it on hold. I can’t speak for the rest of you, but for me, library books take precedent.
So now, I feel guilty putting the other two books to the side while I focus mainly on my library book. All the while my husband shakes his head at me wondering why in the world he puts up with a bookaholic.
Happy weekend peoples! Until the next time! I got a lot of reading to do.
Hello, my name is Kristen and I am addicted to free books for the Kindle….
Every day, I get an email for this site called bookbub. It’s awesome! Not only do they suggest some books that you may like, they also include free books too. Nearly everyday, I download a free book or two. But here’s the kicker….I rarely read them. I have some books that have been on my kindle for years and I’ve never read them. Well, I’m trying to change that. I’ve made myself promise that I will not buy anymore new books until I read at least ten books on my kindle.
Maybe I’m just addicted to reading and books….nah.
Do any of you also have this problem? Please don’t let me be the only one. Until next time folks!
Today I got an email saying that I finally accepted into the Goodreads author program! Yeah! I’ll provide the link below. But for now let’s celebrate!
I don’t know why, but finally getting into this program validates be as a writer and as an author. I’m just as excited that my book is just about ready to be sold! I know right! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
I just have to wait a little longer till Amazon gives me the green light. Once I get that I will let everyone know! Whoop! Whoop! Oh and for my Kindle people out there, you’ll be able to get a copy too! Oh, and before I forget….here’s the link so you can check me out!
I almost forgot that it’s the start of a new month and that means new free books for the kindle. Silly me. Now some months are better than others and this month was awesome!
I got a lot of interesting looking books and even managed to find a whole series. (That’s rare) I love free books whether I borrow them from the library or get them from Amazon. There’s no real risk if the book turns out to be crappy but I’ve also come across some really good ones too. Like right now I’ reading a free book I got a while back called The Last Goddess. Oh my goodness…I’m loving it! And speaking of what I’m reading, I’ve finally gotten my Goodreads page to sync with this blog so I got rid of the What I’m reading page. If you’re still curious, or are looking for something new to read just scroll down the page, along the side, and you’ll see it. It actually works out pretty well for me because I was always forgetting to update that page.
Any who, that’s enough for now. Till next time people and happy reading.
I’m always on the lookout for new books. I go to the library, bookstores, and I have a Kindle. Now I know that some people out there despise the Kindle. I used to be one of those people. My husband got me one and I have to admit that I love it. With that being said, I don’t think I will ever buy books for my Kindle ever again. With real books, if I don’t like it or I get tired of it I could always pass it on. I can’t really do that with Kindle books.
Then I discovered something awesome! At the beginning of each month Amazon has new lists that have free books on them. So now at the first of every month I scan through these lists and see if there’s any books that I may like. I have found some good books and some not so good books, but hey that’s the nature of the beast.
So if you own a Kindle, make sure you stop by Amazon today to check out the new free books. FREE BOOKS FOR ALL!!!!
