I’ve had to do quite a bit of thinking this weekend. Thinking about how do I want to progress as an author. I guess every author goes through this as they near the end of a project. I have two questions that keep running through my head. What do I want to write next? How do I strengthen my name as an author.
The first question is easy enough. I have probably a dozen or so half thought out story ideas that I can pick from. Although, I’m trying to stay away from doing another series. The second question is a bit harder.
I want to expand my reader base but that takes some time. A lot of time if you’re an indie author. Or at least that’s the case for me. It might be beneficial for me to at least slow down my writing process to work on my platform. The problem is that I don’t really like doing that. It feels too much like I’m pushing myself onto people. Sigh.
Thankfully, I don’t have to make any decisions right now. Time of Prophecy still has quite a bit that needs to be written and Frank Tales is in the editing phase. I won’t make a decision until those two projects are complete.
As always, stay strong my friends and until next time
Three years ago, I published my first book and right now I’m diligently working on completing the whole story arch. I’ve learned so much along the way. I never knew how challenging it is to write a series. I learned a lot about what kind of voice I want my books to have and my style as a writer. I think this story (all three books) will always hold a special place in my heart. With that being said, if everything goes right, Time of Prophecy will be released sometime in October of this year. Yeah! What this really means is that I need to buckle down and get back to work. I spent most of today editing in between laundry loads but I need to carve out some more time in my week for writing. If I hope to meet my deadline, I will need more time than just the weekends.
Here’s to you characters of the Lost Guardian series! Let’s finish this thing strong and together!
Ha ha just kidding, there’s no such thing as too many books.
My husband has to drag me away from the book section of any store we walk through and often gives me a resigned sigh when I give him the puppy eyes when we past a book store. Have I mentioned how much a love him? Any who, the reason why I titled this post the way I did is because right now, I have three books that I’m reading. I didn’t choose to read three in one go, it just sort of happened that way.
You see, the first book is a non fiction. Those I can’t read in one sitting. When I’m bored I pick it up and reach until my brain cries for me to stop. The other book I’m reading is a new purchase (even though I have probably a dozen other books that I need to read). The latest book is a library hold. It’s been on hold for so long that I forgot that I had put it on hold. I can’t speak for the rest of you, but for me, library books take precedent.
So now, I feel guilty putting the other two books to the side while I focus mainly on my library book. All the while my husband shakes his head at me wondering why in the world he puts up with a bookaholic.
Happy weekend peoples! Until the next time! I got a lot of reading to do.
I’ve always tried to avoid sites that I know will take up (consume) my life. One such site is Tumbler and the other is Twitter. Huh…I just realized they both start with Ts. Anyways, I finally signed up with Twitter because let’s be frank, its a good way to generate interest. More and more people are on it than ever before. So I figured, why the hell not?
Hit me up and follow. I plan…key word plan to put up snippets of chapters or bits of dialogue that I find brilliant.
Here’s the link:
The dreaded Twitter page!
Every now and again I like to go through my pages and update the information there. I’ve been bouncing the idea of getting a twitter account for months now. I know, I’m probably one of the few people left on the planet who doesn’t have a twitter. Well that’s not official yet but I’ll be sure to let you all know when it is.
With that being said, I have updated my bio and contact information. I think they suit my personality a bit more than before. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys checked them out and told me what you think.
Well that’s enough procrastinating, time to get back to work.
