I have finally done it! I have finally outlined the rest of Souls in the Dark!
I have agonized over the ending of this book for months. I know I drove my husband mad with all my bouncing back and forth. But now it’s all done. I finally have a clear sight of how I want this story to end. I had bounce a few ideas around for months, but now I have finally decided. I can’t tell you how happy I am. Not knowing had put a huge hindrance on my writing because I didn’t want to get too close to the climax. But I don’t have that problem anymore!
Now I can finish with the second half of the book. I’m planning on having Souls in the Dark, be available sometime in August of this year. I cannot tell you guys how happy I am that I’ve blown apart my writer’s block. Any who, I hope you guys have a great weekend! Until next time!
This poem is extra special because it is the 100th post!
Wow, I can’t believe that I’ve been doing this for that long. It’s been almost two years since I started this blog and a year since I’ve published my first book. So much has happened since then. But I won’t take up too much of your poem time with my ramblings.
Greetings to the Spring
A slash of green
On a barren landscape
The smell of earth
In the air
Fills me with life
Little shoots break forth
From the black soil
Pinks and purples
Explode all around
Fills my heart with joy
Furred and feathered
Calling in greeting to one another
Running and flying wild
Makes me laugh
How I have missed you
How I have missed the life you bring
Welcome back my friend
I run towards your embrace
Turning away from winter’s cold grasp
As you may know, I am a life long geek and proud of it. My childhood consisted of comic books, Lord of the Rings (the cartoons), Star Wars and Star Trek. I didn’t realize I was a geek at that time, I just knew that I had some epic fandoms I was apart of. I appreciated the artwork, the story telling, and the delivery. When I entered my teen years I discovered anime (thank you Adult Swim) and fell a little further down the rabbit hole. However, as I got older, these things got pushed to the back burner. It wasn’t that I was ashamed of them, or that I didn’t like them anymore. It just that it’s hard to keep up with these things when you’re in the military. It takes over your life and it doesn’t really release you until you leave the ranks.
Now don’t get me wrong, I loved my time in the Marines and I would go back to all that in a heartbeat, but I love having more time to enjoy the things that I love. Which brings me to the point of this post. I don’t know if I’ve already mentioned this, but I’ve started to get back into comics. Mostly Marvel, but some DC. My husband doesn’t really understand but bless his heart he does tolerate me. I’m already into so many things already it’s surprising that I find time for anything else. Oh well, at least I’ll be happy as I descend further into the many fandoms out there. It’s been nice know you all! Ha ha.
For my birthday, my wonderful, loving, and just all around amazing husband got tickets to see The Lion King on stage. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
You must, I repeat must go see this show. It is absolutely worth every penny. I don’t think I stopped smiling once throughout the show. My hubby didn’t mind too much one way or the other, but it wasn’t his thing. He said he got more enjoyment out of watching me turn into a four year old. haha. Have I mentioned how much I love him.
Unfortunately, now that we’ve gone to the theater once, there’s no escaping it. We’re going to see Rent in October. At least my mom will be coming with us so my hubby will have someone else to laugh at.
Until next time folks!
I know I’m getting a little ahead of myself. There’s still a few weeks left until the “official” start to spring, but the weather is supposed to be so nice this week. We’ll actually get up to about 80! Hot dang! I’m finding my eyes keep going to my planter boxes, which are barren, with ever growing excitement because soon my hands will be playing in their dirt. I cannot wait to start my garden but I must be patient. I do not want to be too hasty and loose my lovely veggies.
I through open my windows as soon as I get home, enjoying the fresh air that my house desperately needs after a long winter. I love spring. It’s my second favorite season. Autumn is my all time favorite.
Just a few more weeks! Just a few more weeks! I cannot wait for SPRING!
