I’m still diligently working away making sure everything is how I want it before I send it off to the editors. The chapters are going a whole hell of a lot smoother now. And since the writing is done, my mind has started to turn to different things. First, do I want to try and find a bookstore to carry my book? Personally I would, but I have read many articles saying that for indie authors, like me, it’s not worth your time. That may be true but I want to see my books on a shelf more than anything, even if it’s just a couple of copies. So while I debate this I’ve started researching the local bookstores. And I’m pleased to report that there is one, relatively close to me, that might work. Before I talk to them, I do want The Lost Guardian to be off to be proofed. That way I will have a clear publication date for them. I also want to scope the store out. See if my book will be a good fit. I still have so much to do, marketing wise.
The other thing that I’ve been thinking about is my next book which will be a continuation of my first. I’ve started a rough outline but nothing much so far. I’m so excited to start it when I get a chance to. I plan to market The Lost Guardian heavily for a while and then start working on the next story about 6 months later. I may start sooner or later, it all depends on what happens between now and then.
On another happy note, I got a job in my desired field, teaching! Don’t worry this won’t take away from my writing, it may even help it. I’m so excited to start working with my student, a special needs child, come August! I was concerned for a while because my state was having a hard time working out a budget, but I guess they got everything figured out now. I haven’t seen anything on the news but maybe they just figured out the education portion of the budget. Either way I’m happy.
Oh and before I forget…The Lost Guardian should be available for purchase March 21, 2015. If anything changes I’ll be sure to let you know but for now mark your calendars!
