As you all know, I just completed the cover to The Lost Guardian. I shared it here and on Facebook. I got a lot of complements on it, which I am grateful for, but what one of my brothers said was note worthy. For those who do not know I have six brothers and a sister (I know!). My second youngest brother Michael sent me a private message instead of commenting. This is what he sent.
Hey there! I just wanted to say that I think it is awesome that you are writing and it looks great! I have always wanted to write as well. Went to school for a while to study English ed and am going back this fall. I hope everything is going great with ya! Love, Michael.
I thanked him and asked what’s stopping him from trying and that if he really wants to write then he should. I understand what might be stopping him though. I’ve always written but never when anywhere with it because I understood that it was practically impossible to get published because of all the politics. I still feel that way. There’s also that fear that you’re not good but I think that ever author feels that way. I told him that there are plenty of avenues to take that are less stressful than waiting for the rejection letters. I also told him that if he had any question then I would help him or direct him to someone who knows better.
Who knew that writing was a family trait?
